Wow- so many fantastic setups. My desktop feels so terribly bland now!

But I don't know... I often tinker with my desktop for an hour and make it pretty pretty, and then find it makes me crazy when I actually try to use it. I setup and tear down at least one dock a month!

So far, this duck is my favorite. But I've only browsed to page 4.

Hi Omns,

Can I ask how you have made you mint menu transparent? I've googled this and can't find a how to.
I'm using LM10 Gnome (and I'm not sure if this is a limiting factor, though I don't know why it would be as LMDE also uses Gnome).

Many thanks.

Sorry, think I have found it!

This can be set in the preferences of each item.
Right click the Menu icon, select Preferences, select the <Options> tab and the Opacity setting is at the bottom.
Open a terminal, select the Edit menu item, select Profile Preferences, select the Background tab and the Transparency slider is at the bottom.

@ z3r0_k00l Welcome to Mint, the forum, and the thread. With those customizations it's apparent you are not new to linux. Good job.

@whorider, I agree with Louis, that is a nice job.

Hi all.

Being almost new to Linux (tried Ubuntu for a week, a couple of years ago) and very new to LMDE, I just wanted to show my desktop after running LMDE for a couple of days.

Nothing fancy, just getting to know Conky and a million other free Linux applications, love playing around :D

I think LMDE will be my primary OS from now on - just love it!

I think I will write a bit about my experience installing and customizing LMDE some day

Welcome Henrik,

I like the brushed look to the wallpaper, and also the tidy, organized Conky.

@ lKingjr, yes, as someone in the other thread said, those are very nice icons (buttons) did you design them? I have made a few icons using inkscape, but never a set for any purpose. What I did was make a few to use in Rocket Dock back when I was still using WinXP.

@ pintas, you desktop comes together very well.
