Anyone Have WinFF installed on LMDE?

Post by craig10x »

I installed it through the Package Manager and although it showed up in my Mint Menu, it will not launch...I even tried to open it through the terminal by typing in winff but no "love" (terminal states something like "error code 203" i think)...So is this application "broken" in LMDE?
Anyone installed it and got it to work?

Thank you for responding...Can't quite recall now..i should have saved it on a screenshot and posted it here..since then i took it off...i guess i got a bit discouraged
I had run it when i was previously using kubuntu and it installed, went on the menu and worked just fine...
Don't know why it won't set up properly on LMDE...this is the first program i have encountered on LMDE that just doesn't want to seem to install properly...I was curious if anyone else had gotten it on LMDE and got it to work...

zerozero: i use to use it....it converts files...say you have a mpeg2 format file...which will play fine on the computer but not on a dvd player...using this, you could convert the file to one that will work on a dvd player...

Description: graphical video and audio batch converter using ffmpeg
WinFF is a graphical user interface for FFmpeg. It will convert almost any
video file that FFmpeg will convert. WinFF does multiple files in multiple
formats at one time. You can, for example, convert mpeg's, flv's, and mov's
into avi's (or DVD/VCD format or MPEG or 3gp etc.) all at once.

This package provides a variety of preset conversion settings for common
formats and devices. These presets are intended to hit the "sweet spot" for
each individual codec. They have been written with a tip of the balance to
quality.

For most presets to work, it is necessary to have the unstripped version of the
libavcodec package, which can be obtained by installing libavcodec-extra-## as
suggested by this package. It might be necessary to enable additional
repositories to find that package.
