Hi, ev'ryone! How're you? It's snowing here!
I downloaded and installed on a 16-gig USB flash drive (with persistence) Linux Mint 9 "Isadora" Xfce. My netbook (MSI Wind U100-432US) is now booted into it. I did already briefly try other Linux distros--Jolicloud 1.1 (didn't have persistence option for installation onto flash drive), EasyPeasy 1.6 (very annoying keyring box would appear onscreen repeatedly) and Ubuntu Netbook Edition 10.10 (slow--uses Gnome, not Xfce or Lxde (WHY?? )).
I've already run Update Manager. I still have to read the PDF file "Introduction to Linux Mint" (I'm still pretty new to Linux).
I just noticed that there's another update, so please excuse me so that I may attend to this matter. I'll be back.
Thanking you all very much, I am
UUUnicorn
