hrm my feedback will have to wait - although i applied the fix in the settings menu i get mostly distortion on the panels etc.
I would advise on a style for regular nautilus though (that is if noone packages nautilus elementary, and puts it on the mint repo ;))

Agreed, Reg nautilus would be what most people will be using. :D

Nice job ZeroZero, no not having the issue with the cursor. :)

okay trying to update pixbuf to experimental is giving me borken packages post-installation.

I'll try to untangle this tommorow, I only hope that a newer version has made it's way into testing until the next spin is release. but i guess the chances of that are pretty good with squeeze being done within days :)

I am sure if need be and if they want to use this GTK theme they could add the updated pixbuf to the repo for LMDE. Well that would be my guess. :D

just a few random ideas here:
- the actual orta has known problems with the pixbuf engine present in the Debian repo (older version than the one the theme requires); there's a workaround in the fixes tab, but... it's a workaround, may not be perfect for everybody;
- SkiesOfAzel is aware of this and his version will use what is available in the Debian repo;
- This means we may not have a plain orta, but a custom, build for LMDE;
- The issue with the cursor i was talking about earlier seems to only appear in the text boxes in FF;
- Tks a lot for the darker wall, mmesantos1, really appreciated;

Your welcome on the wall, I am hoping ikey will jump in now and let us know if we are headed in the right direction for this theme. I had the same issue with orta in 10.04 which uses the same version of pixbuf if I remember correctly but the workaround did fix the issue for me at that time.
I think we have a good theme here so now its up to the powers that be to give the ok on it or not. :D

Re: Theming brainstorm for LMDE

Greetings to all:
I think if we want LMDE possesses its own identity, we must put aside issues such as copying or Elementary Orta. Debian has always been characterized as a simple distribution, and as LMDE is based on Debian, I believe that all elements must be simple.

I think a Gtk theme for LMDE, whatever, you must meet two requirements:
- Simplicity
- 2 variants: Dark and Light.

Elementary is a great theme, which copies to MacOS, however, still has a dark variant (panels mostly) ..
I especially love the Carbon gtk theme, inspired by Candide, is simple and beautiful. I think that's the philosophy that should take LMDE.

Now, if we talk about Docks, I do not think AWN, Cairo or Docky appropriate. I propose Adeskbar.

Here's a concept for a wallpaper I've been working on - I can adjust as required.

Roken, there's a wallpaper I might actually use! Though personally I'd prefer the background be just a little lighter.

On the gray and more gray themes, it's winter time here in the great Northwest (of the US), and if I want gray I can just look outside (or in the mirror when I brush my hair! :lol: ). I really prefer a bit more color on my desktop. Right now I'm using the linux mint background with the green & gray circles. Of course that's just one woman's opinion!

Roken,
The best idea may be to keep that one and post a lighter one as another version

So Finally, here is my Try of a Bootscreen. It's a Mix based on the Win7 Bootscreen, but with other Colours, a Mint Debian Logo and new Version of the Best Animal of the World, Tux :D

I Hope you'll like it :)

OK - here's a less black version, with additional post render cleanup and correction for good measure.

I would have had it here sooner, but I had some real problems with the alpha at render stage - now fixed.
