I think we all can agree and I support this, but please don't post about political issues as in many cases the opinion is split

Well... in fairness he posted in "Random" which is the only sub-forum on linuxmint.com dedicated to off-topic discussions and things not related to Linux.... we could argue we should stick to technology but GNU/Linux is also about freedom (political freedom in the case of the FSF actually).
Plus, it's not a controversial topic (like death-penalty, abortion or the fact that Italy won the World Cup on penalties....), almost everybody here will agree with the poster about what's going on in Burma.

I realized I never asked myself before why the name of that country had changed, here's an interesting article on this:
