request Metacity modification

Post by dolphin »

Why not support question here, when all artist look right here? If admin don't like it here, please feel free to move it somewhere else.

1. Hi, Can somebody please modify this metacity: Humanoid - OSX - Dark 1.0
Metacity Theme
http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/ ... tent=72337
I wish maximized windows both active and inactive were no rounded, because it simply doesn't look good if background is visible in the upper corners. Everything else is perfect.

2. I also like emerald theme:
http://compiz-themes.org/content/show.p ... ent=134580
but compiz/emerald crashes all the time. Can somebody, who also like it, transform it to metacity theme, please?

Obviously, as these two are my favorite themes I wish they were included in Mint, perhaps in Mint specific colors. They look modern.

Try this.

The second theme can't be ported to metacity, as the engine doesn't support transparencies.

metacity does support transparency - open gconf-editor, navigate to apps/gwd and set transparency there.
Kernel Linux Tex 5.12.14-zen1-1-zen, XFCE
Arch
Dual GTX1070 8Gb
AMD Ryzen 1800X

By that I mean 24 bit alpha transparencies in PNGs. Is this supported in metacity?

It didn't work. On both maximized active and inactive there is this rounded upper left corner. Maybe not a big deal but I wish it was perfect

I believe so. I've seen many people use transparent/translucent PNGs for their panels.

Metacity just themes window borders. The panel is skinned by the gtk theme. There are limitations with image transparencies in metacity though, and the above theme can't be ported.

I've found tutorials about matacity, but it is still difficult for me to do it myself. If anyone can help to modify Humanoid - OSX - Dark 1.0 I'd be grateful.

Give me a little bit and I will edit the metacity theme. Should be done today.

I'll look into the emerald theme as well.

Instead of editing my last post, I figured I would just create a new one for the metacity theme. If I get the emerald theme done, I will edit this post.

Here is the metacity theme, also renamed should you decide to use them both.

Actually both minimized and maximized have now squared corners but it looks better anyway. Thank you.
