I'd really like to see this edition, and I hope it sees the light of day soon. Anyway, my vote is for LXDE+Openbox. Just to get away from the usual suspects (GNOME, KDE, XFCE,...). Wish you good luck in your effort!
I've been experimenting with several small distros over the past months, and after all that, my opinion is reinforced. I've tried antiX, Puppy, TinyMe, and, most recently, I've modified Zenwalk Core to look the way I'd like it to - Openbox, some LXDE apps (PCMan FM, GPicView, lxappearance, lxpanel is also nice, but I prefer pypanel), and some GNOME, mostly libraries needed to compile this and that.
