notify-osd and Network Manager interaction problem

I have accidentally removed notify-osd package from the LMDE system, and reinstalled it back when I realized the mistake I made. All the software uses notify-osd for notifications again, but Network Manager doesn't. Instad upon connecting to or disconnecting from a network a window with buttons pops up. Is there any way to make Network Manager aware of notify-osd again?
