Grubgfx of another distro

Post by linuxviolin »

I have Mint Cassandra with another distro in dual-boot on my PC. I installed first Mint and then the another distro. I use the Mint Grub but this other distro uses Grubgfx and I would like to know if it is possible to use the image of that other distro for the Mint Grub and if so, how?

Copy simply the line of menu.lst about gfxmenu:

Code: Select all

gfxmenu (hd0,3) /boot/grub/message
in menu.lst of Mint is enough?

I know very well that one can have gfxmenu in Cassandra, but my question is also 'educative'... :D

Thank you merlwiz79 but unless I am mistaken your 'how to' is for install grubgfx in Mint. My question was about to say to Mint to use for its Grub the image used by the other distro but without installing in Mint.

I want Mint uses its Grub but uses the image of the other distro directly of /boot/grub/message from it.

This other distro is not a .deb distro so I suppose it's not possible?!

P.S= Excuse me if I am not very clear in my explanations, my english is sometimes not very good
