Hello! I'm a new user of Linux, a was using for a long time Win Xp, so I know very little about Linux (almost nothing) and I need help. I started Synaptic Package Manager to update software, and later I saw this error
"E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem.
E: _cache->open() failed, please report."
Can someone help me? I'm sure that is a stupid problem, but like I said, I don't know anything about Linux

This is common, nothing to be concern.
Just do what the intelligent suggestion, open a terminal and type
dpkg --configure -a
hit enter, then watch how it works out
