Hello from Bonner Springs, Kansas

Post by sidneyk »

I've been trying out Linux Mint 10 64bit for a couple weeks now. I had tried it after it first came out and it was nice but at the time I was partial to PCLinuxOS-Gnome and mostly just play around with Linux in a dual boot setup. I have Linux Mint 10 dual booting with Vista x64 on a laptop and on my desktop I decided to give Linux Mint Debian a try and I'm quite pleased with both. Aside from an annoying time reset to UTC every time I reboot everything seems fine. I fixed the time thing by editing my /etc/default/rcS file and changing UTC=yes to UTC=no. Now I'm dual booting back and forth with Windows 7 with no problems. I really like the Debian version and find myself spending more and more time in there. I won't give up Win7 because after all I had to pay big bucks for it and I will take advantage of that, but LinuxMint is becoming more and more viable as a replacement OS worthy of installing to hard disk and taken through it's paces. Enjoy everyone.
