FAO: Clem (WRT: Continuation of Community Coding)

Postby m.keane on Sun Mar 20, 2011 1:48 pm

Clem: Instead of re-introducing myself please see: http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=180&t=68728
Ikey has asked me to continue his community based projects due to concern they may "rot and die"
Please confirm which projects related to Linux Mint are still favoured for future development.
He has offered the following list:

  • mintDesktop
  • mintBackup
  • mintInstall
  • live-installer
  • LMDE Base System Configuration
  • LMDE Driver Manager (Horsey)

We've discussed it and he feels the tools should be "generically branded, publicly scrutinised and community developed"
I've laid my cards on the table if you wish to take me up on the offer it is your choice sir.

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Thanks Mickey,

Ikey and I have been coding together for a while now. You don't just replace someone with someone else just because he's a developer as well. These projects won't "rot and die". The ideas are there and they will be re-implemented.

Our source code is on http://www.github.com/linuxmint

Feel free to give it a look and send us pull requests when you have a commit you feel could benefit them.

Thanks for helping out,
Clem.
