Logo Request: Official "Linux Mint" logo

Post by cmost »

This is a shout out to whomever created and/or maintains the Linux Mint logo: "Linux Mint from freedom came elegance" that adorns the top of this forum and the default wallpaper in Celena. I need a copy of this logo in SVG format with a transparent background. Several users have pointed me in the direction of copies of this logo but they're on backgrounds of various shades of gray. I have also scoured Mintart.com, but many of those logos are outdated or, once downloaded they will not open (corruption?) I am not having much luck subtracting the background colors from the logo without degrading the appearance of the logo.

I am in the process of creating several artistic pieces for Linux Mint; among them a very elegant and professional looking GDM theme, matching wallpaper and lock-workstation theme. I cannot do quality work by cutting and pasting logo scraps from various other wallpapers or web pages. If someone can send me the original logo artwork, I would greatly appreciate it. Finally, can someone confirm that the Linux Mint font is Rothwell? It appears to be the closest match. Thanks.

Thank you Agust! I only hope I can do half as good a job with my artistic contributions as you have with yours! :-)

Thank you for your kind words. THe file you've been looking for is available on the wiki http://www.linuxmint.com/wiki/index.php/MintArt_Gallery

Its an svg file just make sure to use inkscape to grab it and export it. Its the only app that properly handles SVG files.

Good luck and looking forward to see what you have in store.

Hi, is there any way I can get the font used in the logo? I think it would look cool as a titlebar

Does anyone have a Mint logo that can fit Conky ? Usually they come as a font.
