Mint-kde 10 freezes

Postby doc2freak on Wed Mar 23, 2011 4:36 am

I am a newbie, i have had used ubuntu briefly a year back. Day before, I downloaded & installed Mint-kde 10 & setup dual boot with windows 7 successfully. However after a few common modifications that i did like changing appearance settings, setting up network my system comes to a halt & nothing works. No key combinations, no application would start or close, neither does restart, shutdown work. I have to press shutdown button on pc, even more perplexing thing is when i restart again (in hope) it completes the booting, gets me to the desktop but on first action itself it again freezes & same story repeats. I have formatted & reinstalled it 3 times in 3 days but it wont change. Interestingly none of this thing happens in ubuntu hardy that i have a copy of. Pls help If it doesnt work out , i will have to move away from mint.

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Have you checked you media for errors? There is a option at the live media boot menu for that.
