Debian is named after characters in 'Toy Story' right, so since Mint is becoming increasingly Debian based, why not adopt the same sort of naming scheme. My suggestion is names of characters from The Simpsons
It has probably been thought of before, but I think it would go something like this.
Linux Mint Homer.
Instead of producing error messages like this
Exception c0000005, at 78180284
Access violation: attempting to read memory at address 52555400
Native function stack data: 0,30424b0,4e454449,49464954,30005,80100,86d38,ffffffff
Exception in thread "main" com.jniwrapper.FunctionExecutionException: c0000005
It would just say:
DOH!
Which is far more cool and just as useful.
Linux Mint Mr. Burns
This version would just steal your credit card numbers
Linux Mint Lisa.
Small, functional and clever - must be given to the Fluxbox Edition
And the thing is you would never run out of characters, because once you have used up all the main ones you could start on the 'Virtual' guests that they have had over the years. For example you could have:
Linux Mint Tony Blair
This version would start by erasing part of your hard drive then at every subsequent boot it would display a message like this:
I firmly believe that deleting the data in the middle (east) part of your hard drive was the right thing to do.
PS. Do you want to buy my book?
But I couldn't wait to use
Linux Mint Bart
I think this should be given to LMDE, then every time an update baulked your computer a message would pop us saying:
I didn't do it
Priceless
Over to you!
