fstab floppy

Post by uke-eda »

Hi.

Just wanted to know whether it is wise to delete this line in /etc/fstab:

/dev/fd0 /media/floppy0 auto rw,user,noauto 0 0

I don't have a floppy so it seems rather useless to me. The real question is though if there is anything else to adjust when I delete this line? (BTW the fstab file was a real mess with multiple and wrong entries. Is this a bug?)

Thanks in advance.

Yes it is, but I recommend that you just comment out the line with #, like this:

Code: Select all

# /dev/fd0 /media/floppy0 auto rw,user,noauto 0 0
There is nothing else to adjust when you comment out or delete this line.
