G'Day from downunder

Post by JohnSpogg »

Just a quick hello.
I picked up a magazine with a couple of distros and thought I'd give Linux a try. The dvd came with OpenSuse 11.4, Fedora 14 and Mint 10. Well Mint is sooo good. I last installed Red Hat about 12 or 13 years back and somewhat liked it but the installation back then was tricky to say the least. I managed to get it running but then support was almost non-existent and that was on dial-up.
I'm not a young-un (almost 66) but been playing with PC's since 1986. My first PC was a 5Mhz turbo (wound it up to 8Mhz) with twin 5 1/4 floppies. I think I still have a copy of Windows 2 hanging around in my box of tricks.
Anyway Mint impressed me right off and now I'm back to basics picking up whatever info I can and Mint forums appear to be a good place to start. So, thanks in advance for the assistance. Regards John
