Hi,
has anyone tried Stellarium in LMDE?
I've used it in Ubuntu Maverick & unlike the rest of the OS, worked really well.
In LMDE it's the opposite - Youtube & iPlayer for example works very smoothly, whereas Stellarium is slow & jittery.
When installing Ubuntu, the OS offered up a couple of drivers for my videocard (an Nvidea G86), although installing LMDE didn't give an option.
Anyone any idea where I need to start?
Cheers,
Ian...

Re: Stellarium
Yes, Mint's Debian spins are quite different than the Ubuntu spins.
I have only one suggestion, many use them : http://smxi.org/

Yes, I've got stellarium installed on LMDE, version 0.10.5. Doesn't seem slow to me, though I'm not sure what you mean by slow and jittery. Maybe you have a slower computer?
From stellarium FAQ site:
" I experience very slow rendering, very low framerates on my computer.
This happens when hardware rendering is disabled. If you have a 3D video card, make sure that your OpenGL drivers are installed and up to date."
So, my frame rates as shown on stellarium when I run it show around 18 ~ 20 FPS. Care to post yours?
