Hi All,
I've been using Ubuntu for several years but don't like the look of the forth coming release with Unity so I've jumped ship. I thought I'd give a different flavour a try, so I've installed LMDE. I like the idea of rolling updgrades so that once I have my system setup I don't need to worry about re-installing every 6 months.
Just a couple of things, I was using AWN dock on my Ubuntu setup with liqourix kernel and had Ubuntu Tweak installed. As LMDE and Ubuntu are both Debian based I'm guessing I'm OK to install these again.
can anyone give me any pointers as I go.
Cheers.

Welcome, there is a specific Debian version of AWN.
Can be installed by; sudo apt-get install avant-window-navigator

You can install the liqourix kernel just fine, and ubuntu tweak, though most of ubuntu tweak is redundant on LMDE since you can achieve the same using gconf (configuration editor in the system tools menu).

Hi, welcome! You should consider shifting your sources to unstable repos if you like living life on the edge. Some forum members do it without much problems at all.gibbylinks wrote: can anyone give me any pointers as I go.
