[Solved] Some Fluxbox basics, pretty please!

Post by M_Mynaardt »

Hi, All!

I've got a persistent install of Fluxbox on an USB-HDD.

The thing is, I've just not had the time to mess about with it.

I think Fluxbox has what looks like some cool features. Notably Tabbing and the Slit thingamajggy. Unfortunately, I have been able to find anything in the way of "how to" for either. The http://fluxbox-wiki.org/ didn't seem to have any how-to information on Tabbing nor The Slit. I also looked through You Tube and couldn't find anything very helpful there either.

Could someone do us a favour and tell me where I might be able to find that sort of information? I'd like to check them out, but haven't got a clue on how to use either The Slit nor the Tabbing features of Fluxbox. It would be much appreciated!

Thanks, All!

There's a few sites to be going on with.

As for 'the slit', despite having used Fluxbox for quite a while now I have never even seen it, let alone found a use for it. I think it is some kind of April Fools joke myself.

Tabbing? As far as I can tell it just doesn't work (having said that I am not much interested in it anyway). One of two things happen when I middle click a window, either nothing or it minimises.

Despite those two abject failures, Fluxbox is still my WM of choice on every distro I run, once you have it configured it is so superior to any other.

Okay, thanks for that! I'll check out those sites and see what I can find out, if anything.

Fluxbox does look interesting. I've just not had time to play with it. Working nights is my excuse!
