Wireless solved

Post by Acid_1 »

k, this prolly has been discussed, but, my wireless won't work in Mint. I have the beta (Daryna) and I can connect with Windows, but I can't connect via Linux. Please help. This is the only thing keeping me from totally wiping my drive of Windows...

Welcome to Mint Acid_1
The 1370 seems to be a Broadcom 4318
Gutsy - and thus Daryna is supposed to have support for bcm.
Look at
http://www.linuxmint.com/wiki/index.php/MintWifi
and follow the advice to use the Linux driver - you still need to use fwcutter I'm afraid
We just received a driver for the 1390 card, don't know if that'll work any better

woo! I'm replying using the wireless you helped me hook up. Thank you so very much. That was very informative. I don't understand why people say that the linux driver is harder to do. lol. l8rs
