Hardware Upload Idea question

Hello, I am willing to commit to taking a stab at completing this idea:

I would like to start building a python script, but this requires some knowledge on where to get it committed to Mint along with possibilities/preferences(FTP?) for uploading to Mint servers/other preferred location.

Anyone know where I could attain this knowledge?

the idea is to use mint's system profiler, and upload to the mint site as part of the hardware database ect
