mkudffs and big mkv file tu burn

Post by myth »

Hi ppl!
I have the following problem:

I want to burn a 4.2 GB big mvk file on a DVD...

Using mkisofs does not work because the file is bigger than 4 GB and i searched google for something, and i found mkudffs...

I put the following in the terminal:

Code: Select all

myth@myth-desktop:/media/sdb1/temp$ mkudffs --media-type=dvd Sommerferien07.mkv
start=0, blocks=16, type=RESERVED
start=16, blocks=3, type=VRS
start=19, blocks=237, type=USPACE
start=256, blocks=1, type=ANCHOR
start=257, blocks=16, type=PVDS
start=273, blocks=1, type=LVID
start=274, blocks=2155790, type=PSPACE
start=2156064, blocks=1, type=ANCHOR
start=2156065, blocks=239, type=USPACE
start=2156304, blocks=16, type=RVDS
start=2156320, blocks=1, type=ANCHOR
And now i can't even open the file on my pc...

How can i roll back this command? And how can i burn this big file on a DVD?

Thanks for every idea

I see you've tried to get help
http://www.unixboard.de/vb3/showthread.php?t=34753
I've searched for some home page for mkudffs but sadly I have not found one.
The damage is already done, but I would strongly recommend not to use files over 4 GB and preferably not over 2 GB. I recommend trying to cut it in two
Do you have another copy? If not be very careful...
Oh - can you rename it or copy it and then try to open it.
