I moved from Ubuntu for the rolling release benefit that LMDE offers.
In Ubuntu, the Language Support option in Admin allows you to add Languages and all other packages that will enable one to login and use the system in any language added.
How can I do something similar in LMDE easily?

Re: How to Add Languages in LMDE
My system is set up for English and Thai. Here is what I did:
1. Go to Menu>Settings>Keyboard and click on the "Layout" tab. UNCHECK "Use System Default" and add the desired language(s) you want. this now sets up your keyboard to be able to type in the selected language(s) you chose. If language packs are needed, you will be informed.
2. Go to any panel (top or bottom) and right-click. Go to Panel>Add New Items>Keyboard Layouts. Add it to your panel. your languages should be there and now you have a panel icon you can click on to change languages. the icon can be set up graphically or in text.
Hope this helps!
