We need an easier way to change the mintMenu icon.

I was thinking maybe the mint team could possibly add a "browse" button to the mintMenu properties box to make changing the icon a bit easier for average users. Not everyone is savvy with typing directory names. Sounds simple enough to do, and shouldn't take much to make it happen. I'd contribute it myself, but I can't program my way out of a paperbag.

I was going to suggest this but since you already did in 2009 and got no response I thought I'd add to it in 2011 to see if it gets any attention. The ability to browse and select files is what people expect and are used to for almost everything else, to expect them to fill in a text box with a path that doesn't even auto complete is crazy. When I change mine I have to open Nautilus and browse to the icon set and folder to get the path of the image. Plenty of people won't know where the icons are to go looking there.

Agreed. There's no reason why the mintMenu shouldn't have this option.

Woah . . . now these members are scaring me !

they want it easier than a right-click . . . easier than needing to find an icon folder with your eyes open ! . . easier than knowing where /usr/share/icons is actually located . . and easier than pretending that you didn't realize that you needed superuser privilege to read/write to this folder .

. . so many variables . . so little patience . . .
