how do you input proxy settings in chromium with fluxbox?

Post by bensoliman »

Hello everyoe
To access my accounts online at work, I would need to input the proxy settings
I was able to do that with firefox 4 here in LM fluxbox
with chromium, I chose the wrench button and went to preferences then under the hood left side tab
In network when I choose change proxy settings I would get this message

"When running Chromium under a supported desktop environment, the system proxy settings will be used.
However, either your system is not supported or there was a problem launching your system configuration.

But you can still configure via the command line. Please see man chromium-browser for more information on flags and environment variables."

I'm pretty much stumped at this point, any suggestions is much appreciated.
Cheers!

Take a look at Preferences -> Network Proxy.

That should do it.

My apologies. I should have read/seen fluxbox.

You can start chromium with --proxy-server=host:port

Code: Select all

chromium-browser --proxy-server=host:port
For more information man chromium-browser

I've experienced crashing issues with chromium as well. I use Chrome from the google chrome site, and a lot more stable in my opinion.
