Login Screen Not Working?

I've had LMDE xfce installed quite awhile now but just noticed this. If I go to menu>system>login screen, the dialog box opens but I can't disable the lock so I can automatically login. Is there a fix?
there are three groups of people in the world. those that can count, and those that can't.

Hi, I had the same problem. I solved it by editing the "daemon.conf" in "/etc/gdm3" (see screenshot)

thanks. that worked but it doesn't seem like the login screen module is very useful if you have to go in a modify a system file. just saying :)
