Once again nothing special, just decided to Scify up the desktop a bit....

Image

Took a Conky I found on Gnome-look.org and modified it to have a Scify feel, and added a ping check for my favourite MMO's so I know before I try to login if the servers are down or not.

Other than that I just added a wall paper I got from NASA's site.

****EDIT****

If you guys like the conky setup I have in this image I've uploaded it to Gnome-look.org with a few alterations, mainly removed the server ping bit and added a RSS Feed, and Gmail tracker. Also have added monitoring for Dual CPU's

The black bar @ the conky is some kinda Screenshotbug, but it comes everytime.

I have started setting up the desktop more to my taste. I used conky before, but so long ago that I had forgotten everything. I found the weather options difficult to get working reliably, so I made a crontab script to download the weather plus icons from wunderground every half hour, and just used conky to display the text.

I am not happy with the “Controls” theme. Is there some way I can modify this myself, rather than using a pre-set theme? I want the background to be transparent, as it is now, but the time is too difficult to read. The best I found was Carbon Controls which is used above.
