shutdown option becomes logout

Hello,
I've just returned from LMDE, it was great, very fast but eventually simply too unstable.
I've just installed the latest Mint (11), bolted on my preferred Xfce desktop and all is working as I would like, so far, with a couple of minor exceptions.
When I hit the "action button" installed on my panel in order to shutdown, I get the Logout dialogue as expected but on pressing Shutdown I'm presented with the logout screen. I can shut down from this screen by selecting shutdown from the options but I'd prefer it to work as it should.
I experienced a similar problem with LMDE but the script which cured that doesn't seem to apply to Standard Mint.
Has anyone experienced a similar problem? Any suggestions gratefully acknowledged.

. . can't find it , but it had something to do with needing sudo privileges , or was it gksudo . . gosh, if I do recall, I'll post back . .

Edit, in the right-click Properties of the Action Button, you don't have Quit and Lock Screen selected, do you ?

Very strange! after reading your reply I shutdown and the system worked as normal. I did nothing, did you fix it by telepathy?
The shutdown still works so I'm baffled but not unhappy.
Re; your edit, I don't get that option with right click prefs on the action button (please see attached).
