Network printer setup broken

Samsung Laser Printer is attached to a print server. This arrangement has never presented a setup problem with previous versions of Mint. The 64-bit Mint Debian does not contain the driver for this printer. By adding package splix via package the Samsung ML-2510 setup option is provided. Setup appears to be normal however when print job is attempted an error is produced stating that the printer is not connected. Printer operating properly from other computers on the network. Looking for suggestions.

You might need the ia32-libs package to drive the 32bit drivers. That is what I needed for a similar issue with a Canon printer.
