Just installed LMDE 64 on HP Pavilion DV 8000 from 201012.
Updated system for hours, mintupdate-debian reports up to date.
Here is my sources list:
deb http://debian.linuxmint.com/incoming testing main contrib non-free
deb-src http://debian.linuxmint.com/incoming testing main contrib non-free
deb http://packages.linuxmint.com/ debian main upstream import backport romeo
deb http://security.debian.org/ testing/updates main contrib non-free
deb http://www.debian-multimedia.org testing main non-free
System crashes continuously, xsane crashes it and so does Libre Office.
Checked the installations in Synaptic and they are OK, I even over-installed.
This is very weird because I have LMDE 32 in 2 other computers and it works fine.
At a certain moment I saved my password in the keyring, in one of its warning messages Libre Office reported that my personal settings are locked.
I have to discard a hardware issue, because this computer works fine with other OS, and software issues too because everything is up to date, no conflcts, no broken packages, no dependency problems.
However, when I want to access a restricted application like Synaptic it says that an application wants to access keyring default, but it is locked.
I think that I have to change the way the system works and unlock my personal settings.
Please help, I need to use this system.

Sounds like the problem is in Synaptic. Try a couple of things:
and
Code: Select all
sudo dpkg --configure -a
Code: Select all
sudo rm /var/lib/apt/lists/* -vf
Mint Cinnamon 20.1

Thanks for answer.
Tried those commands, but issues still the same.

Sounds like you can resolve this by blasting your keys inside ~/.gnome2/keyrings/
Before you do this, do a little bit of research.

Thank you very much for answer, but a little late.wil wrote:Sounds like you can resolve this by blasting your keys inside ~/.gnome2/keyrings/

I needed urgently to use this comp. so restored Julia-64 from a recent backup.
Computer works fine, but I have an older kernel and not a rolling distro.
I did the research though, so now I know how to solve should a similar problem pop-up.
I am using LMDE 32 on two other machines and never had this problem.
Loaded LMDE 64 from 201012 and had to go through a ton of updates and dist-upgrades only to get an unusable system.
Libre Office and a scanner were completely crashing the system, and maybe there was more, CD burning wasn't working right either.
I am not righting off Debian though, will wait for next respin, or maybe load Squeeze.
