Hi

Works fine here IF you go to "Hints and Help for CBC Radio streaming on CBC.ca" and choose "Go directly to our full list of streaming URLs." Sometimes works directly in Mplayer from main site.
If you get the latest ffmpeg it " might" help

Also have you configured Mplayer as in HOWTOs

Hi

Your link works fine if you follow link "Go directly to our full list of streaming URLs." Plays but slow to buffer from UK, works fine under Konqueror on Etch with Xine from multimedia repos, and Mint

The BBC also plays OK with Etch and Mint, with FireFox and
Konqoueror. With the BBC when you get option Windows Media Player or Real player they do not make you aware that mostly
only one source is available. therefore if on does not work try the
other, I do not have realplayer installed but Mplayer or Kmplayer or Kaffiene work fine.

Widows Media is a closed source codec - defective by design

Hi Tinny

Glad you got it working :) , I never install Totem and Mplayer myself as the tend to disagree with each other, been playing since last post, they have a ogg-vorbis link which works well as
well

Have been trying to get them in streamtuner for you, as they do Icecast as well

The hint on their page

"Mplayer tends to take longer to connect and buffer the stream
than Windows Media player, so please be patient.

To reduce the buffering time in mplayer, update /etc/mplayerplug-in.conf by uncommenting the following line:

cachesize=256

Xine is another alternative player that works for Linux/UNIX as well:"

Works well with me-they are slow here in UK :)

Will let you know if get working in Streamtuner, no need to go to web page then
