CPIO

Post by warpdragon »

Ok so I learned tar and how to use tar to make tarballs and display the contents as a list of files and how to delete a file from that tarball. It wasn't pretty but I did it.

So now I have to learn to do the same thing with cpio. i've looked in my books and there's no info and i've been googling now for about 2 hours and i can't seem to get a handle. please help!

Warpdragon:

Have a look at this search result. The results are from my "Linux Dork Sites" custom google search of 29 Linux-specific sites for CPIO.

http://www.thegeekstuff.com/2010/08/cpio-utility/ has some quick info about it.
