Hey folks, a former Windows user here who has made the leap into Linux recently. Tried out various distros and decided on Linux Mint.
Completely over Windows, what a piece of crap that operating system is. Had nothing but trouble with it! Loving Mint so far though.
You'll probably find me asking a million questions on here, but i'm new to linux so it's expected!

Re: Another former Windows user
Glad to have you with us. I started about 2mths ago, procrastinating my annual 18mth remastering of window$, I finally did it last night, but it wasn't pretty.
6hrs of boot and reboot
What made me finally just go ahead and remaster the Window$ partition, the motherboard had a flash upgrade to fix a problem OS's other than window$ was having with finding and recharging the battery correctly.(well that's the way they worded it.)
I've never tried updating the flash though the BIO's, didn't wish to fry the chip if I did it wrong.
Now I get to play with LMDE all weekend and maybe find out if the flash update fixed the problem.
