could be a bad burn.


two questions:

1. did you check the md5 checksum?

2. did you burn at the slowest possible speed?

Hi, welcome to Linux Mint

I'm spanish forum moderator.

I recommend you to use gparted Livecd for make a new partitions.

Download from here:

Burn it at 8X speed, and boot from the livecd.

It's really easy to use.

Please do this partitions:

one primary partition as Ext3 At least 4 Gb Mount as "/"
one primary partition as Swap partition ( double size real RAM)

Next, you have have to press on "Apply"

Finally you have to boot from Mint livecd, and when you're in partition step, choose "MAnual" and select those partitions:

ext3
swap

That's all
