My new LMDE desktop. "/home" shared with Ubuntu. So settings are just imported as is.

I love my right sided panel - it uses abilitites of wide screen and save vertical size of desktop :)

My current LMDE Gnome desktop. I'm rather fond of it.
Where did you get the desktop background from?

What theme/colors are you using? I've been trying to configure Gnome how I want it (which is a lot like how you have it) but I'm used to KDE and can't figure out how to get things like window transparency.

Also, is it easy to switch to XFCE if you installed the gnome edition?

Lastly, what do most people use to configure their DE's? Gnome-color-chooser, compiz, downloaded themes, and downloaded icons? Am I missing anything

Finally, here's mine. Pretty lame, I just installed yesterday - it's a work in progress. Does anybody know how to make my terminal look cooler? Transparency/better colors? Also, how do I make the tabs less blocky? Sorry about all the questions

The theme I'm using is called DarkShible-mono. You can get it here. It's one I hacked together out of one of the Shiki variants and something else a long time ago. Sadly its probably ending its used by date as I need to either port it to gtk3 or find a new theme. I'll probably go with the later. The icons are Mint-X-Dark.

As for transparencies. Have a look at this guide (Step 3: Compiz Opacity) for transparencies in the menus. It is written for Natty and Unity but the process is the same for adding transparency to compiz in LMDE. Transparency for the terminal can be set in the apps preferences.

Current differences between GTK2 and GTK3 theme because Orta theme has no GTK3 version.
The openbox windows manager is OK for both windows. I switched the buttons on the left.

My latest LMDE (LinuxMint-Debian-Edition) with Fluxbox.

With the new 3.0.0 Linux Kernel and a simple Conky.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

I have and use the same Fluxbox set-up/configuration for my #!Crunchbang Statler.
