Two update managers on boot in Mint 11 LXDE

I'm not sure if there was already a fix posted for this, but I recently did a fresh install of Mint 11 LXDE and noticed two instances of the Update Manager (mintupdate) on every boot. I end up manually closing one of them, but is this an issue the Mint team is aware of? If so, is there something I can do in the terminal or a config file to remove the two instances?

Btw, excellent work on the LXDE version of Mint 11. Earlier I tried out the LTS version (version 9) and the silver theme on the newer versions is much much better than the older black one.

i also had the same issue. however a few reboots later it stopped happening. I dint tweak settings or do anything, it just "fixed itself".
Now i get only one icon.

I'm still getting it, RC2 update on Vmware. every boot, 2 update managers.

I have the same issue, and it did stop by itself, and then restarted by itself. I checked Task Manager to make sure that there were indeed two instances of it running, and there was. Right Clicking and selecting Quit will stop one but not the other. Still looking for a fix.

I was hoping to get some help in the near future because I restored an older computer and giving it to a family member for schoolwork. I know its a minor nitpick to have two instances of the Update Mananger, but it uses up more resources and looks goofy.

You can go to the file "autostart" in the "/etc/xdg/lxsession/Mint-LXDE" directory and remove or comment out all the stuff you don't need. You should make a backup of the original file.

I find that I need less than half of what is there. If resources are important to you try Mint 10 LXDE instead as it uses less RAM than Mint 11 LXDE.

I worked on this issue most of the day on Saturday, and ultimately ended back on the "autostart" in the "/etc/xdg/lxsession/Mint-LXDE" thinking that perhaps there were actually two instances of it listed there. Unfortunately nothing to report besides it being normal.

I decided to take a break from it Sunday, and this morning when I booted up it's back down to one update manager. I haven't a clue at this point what is. Unless it happens again though, I'm moving on to other things I need to do now.

*Note, I know that an update didn't stop the issue, because I did not install updates until this morning after I noticed that there was only one update manager.

The last thing I did on Saturday though was run "sudo apt-get update" could be related

I don't know why the update manager loads twice but I know that is a known bug. Unless you need a reminder to do a update why not remove it and save some RAM? You can always use the update manager that is on the menu or do a "sudo apt-get update" and a ""sudo apt-get upgrade".

Thanks for the above instructions, I have commented it out from autostart along with the bluetooth entry since I don't have bluetooth. Seems a minor bug really in the scheme of things but I hope it is resolved by an update soon.

I remove that line on all my installs because I don't need to run the update-manager every time I boot and I don't have that problem. It also saves a little RAM.
