Problema reproducir videos

[gmaidana]

Tengo un problema cuando reproduzco videos en avi, flv, etc.
Abro el software...ya sea gnome player o vlc...abro archivo...y al dar click por alguna parte del programa, se reinicia la sesion.
Ya Tengo instalado Katya desde el LiveDVD...

Tengo instalado Katya dentro de windows

Este es el problema, Katya gestiona el hardware a travez de windows, algo no muy confiable.
Prueba el live-cd y notaras la diferencia.

Gracias por tu respuesta...ahora instale desde el liveDVD, con codecs incluido y pasa lo mismo.
Abro el software VLC...lo maximizo...y abro una pelicula en AVI, luego quiero aumentar el volumen o tocar alguna otra parte y se reinicia...

Seguramente es tu controlador de video que no tiene el driver correcto, pero te diré que tu problema tiene solución debes abrir el reproductor de video y en propiedades en la sección video eliges enviar a X11, con eso solucionas momentáneamente el problema.

Si te pasa solo en pantalla maximizada o completa, es problema de compiz, tienes que ir a las opciones y en la pestaña general activa la casilla que dice "anular redireccion de ventanas a pantalla completa"
si esto no funciona, desactiva los efectos de escritorio.
Si nada funciona, entonces es esto:

Los drivers para graficos Via en Linux son malisimos o descontinuados, tendras que comprar una tarjeta de graficos.

Gracias por el aporte...
Lo pude solucionar en "Gnome Player" como me indicó AAGV25, lo pase a X11 y se solucionó, ya puedo maximizar, cambiar volument, etc., en VLC no encontré esta posibilidad de cambiarlo, pero ya utilizaré el otro soft para reproducir multimedia.
Igualmente como me indica LINMINT777, veré de como mejorar lo de los drivers.
