hairybiker,
sorry for the delay in returning to this topic
- i went though the topic and see that basically to the end you have 2 problems:
1- the errors in the sources.list: if you decide to track
latest, security and multimedia are not yet in the linuxmint mirrors, so your souces.list have to look like this
- Code: Select all
deb http://packages.linuxmint.com/ debian main upstream import backport
deb http://debian.linuxmint.com/latest testing main contrib non-free
deb http://security.debian.org/ testing/updates main contrib non-free
deb http://www.debian-multimedia.org testing main non-free
2- awn: was removed from debian before update-pack2 (the one you have installed in your system if you are tracking latest - that's why you can't find it in synaptic) but migrated again after (that's why if you add the testing repo
- Code: Select all
deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ testing main contrib
you will find it - yeahh, i know sounds a bit confusing but i hope i made it more or less clear - i tried

)
- now, this v. that was updated to the testing repo has a few problems (as you already found) and you can see some reports here
viewtopic.php?f=187&t=80386&p=467675&hilit=awn#p467680 in this same thread you also find tips to install the ubuntu v. (that apparently works well)
i hope i didn't miss nothing

but if i did, just say
