Should the next LMDE XFCE also include LXDE?

Post by t3g »

Considering that the XFCE version of Mint has made the switch to Debian for the future, do you think that the LXDE editions will make the switch as well? If so, why not just put the XFCE and LXDE on the same ISO and give the user an option to install upon DVD boot?

I say this because there is already an official XFCE+LXDE Debian ISO (debian-testing-i386-xfce+lxde-CD-1.iso and debian-testing-amd64-xfce+lxde-CD-1.iso) that gives the option to install either one and the Mint team can use that as a source and customize the installer screen with a Mint background as they make their selection in addition to having the Mint specifics for XFCE and LXDE on the disc already.

I hope so in this volatile environment...
Ubuntu is not the most stable and trusted platform to do things with, I think.

In the meantime LMDE still is doing great here, Mint Xfce the same and lately I tried Mint Lxde and it is fine too..
(Only a tiny thing with printer-install.)
Levebre and his team are just doing great! :D
