Can't get Broadcom Wifi connecting LMDE 64 bit

Hello,
So i followed the instructions under the "Install Broadcom-sta (wl) driver in LMDE" page, using the script. At first the wifi connected, but not being a trusting person, I rebooted the laptop. After the reboot however, it won't work. It sticks in a loop of trying to connect (the network connectivity thing spins around, but the read globe is grey). and asking for the wifi password again and again. I know the password is correct.

As per the instructions above, I have run some commands to get some information, which I hope will enable someone to help me out. (NB, just in case it's relevant, i'm online now by using my phone to tether. Also, the reason the b/rate shows as different on the final two iwconfigs is (presumably) because I tried to reconnect again in between those 2 commands, so the globe was spinning again for the second attempt.)

Please uninstall the STA driver and try the brcm80211 driver: http://wiki.debian.org/brcm80211

You can use the install instructions for Wheezy; the non-free component in sources.list is already there in LMDE.

Thanks for the reply, but there are a bunch of Broadcom STA things listed as installed in synaptic, which ones should I be uninstalling?

Actually I had a go at it and deleted the broadcom-sta-common (which removed broadcom-sta-modules-2.6.39-2-amd64.

I then tried to follow those instructions, but it said there was nothing to install....the modprobe gave an error message (I didn't write it down)....but, I rebooted, and wifi worked. Rebooted again, and it seems to be working fine. Hopefully it will keep working....maybe I had too many drivers installed and they were conflicting somehow? I'm not technical sorry, but it's working now! Thank you so much!
