Wine Is Working But It's Not In The Menu

Post by LaneLester »

On my wife's laptop I just installed Wine from Synaptic in LMDE. I installed Kyodai, without which I would have never gotten my wife away from Windows.

I chose the "go ahead and run it" option while installing Kyodai, and it runs fine. But nothing shows up in the XFCE menu to enable Kyodai to be run later. And what I really want is to be able to create a launcher that will launch Kyodai directly from the panel.

Oh, boy, I think I'm dead. It looks like Kyodai is not being installed after all. It's not in /home/gail/.wine/drive_c/Program Files.

It was working great in Xubuntu Natty, but Natty got too unstable, so I installed LMDE.

If I can't get Kyodai working reliably, it's back to Windows for my wife!

Try right click on menu/edit menu/check box next to wine. It should then appear in the menu.

Thanks! It's been so long since I reported this problem that I've forgotten the solution I discovered.
