compiz in kde

Postby deepakrathore23 on Thu Sep 22, 2011 4:16 am

hello
i installed linuxmintkde 10 on my hp netbook...my graphics sucked with kwin using open gl (too slow)
so i switched to xrender,things definetly improved with speed but effects like desktop cube,cover switch became unavailable...so i decided to use compiz with kde...
after making compiz as default window manager with open gl my windows are without borders... :(
my compiz window manager fails to start....

Under the Window Decoration compiz plugin , you will need to set the correct decorator.

wen i loaded kde window manager

kde-window-decorator(3886) KWD::KDecorationPlugins::loadPlugin: kwin : path "/usr/lib/kde4/kwin3_oxygen.so" for "kwin3_oxygen"
KCrash: Application 'kde4-window-decorator' crashing...
KCrash: Attempting to start /usr/lib/kde4/libexec/drkonqi from kdeinit
sock_file=/home/deepak/.kde/socket-deepak-HP-Mini-110-3100/kdeinit4__0

[1]+ Stopped kde4-window-decorator --replace

wen i loaded gtk window manager

(gtk-window-decorator:3891): GConf-CRITICAL **: gconf_client_set_string: assertion `val != NULL' failed
Window manager warning: Failed to load theme "Clearlooks": Failed to find a valid file for theme Clearlooks

emerald brings the borders but the process is never completed in terminal,aft closing the terminal emerald effects also stop..

although my open gl is working out of the box with compiz,no lags like kwin

To be able to close the terminal add an ampersand(&) to the end of the command.

Code: Select all
