Update Pack 3 no GRUB install

Post by VanR »

Hi, I just installed LMDE a few days ago. I changed my source lists to the latest repositories and updated to update pack 3. All went well until I got to the GRUB install. I didn't know at the time about using the space bar to select where to put GRUB, so after fighting it and not being able to select /dev/sda (everytime I hit "enter it brought me back to the first screen again) I ended up selecting NO and used my old GRUB which is 1.99-8 or something like that. The new 3.0 kernel shows up in GRUB and the computer boots and runs fine, but I'm wondering if I need to install that new GRUB 1.99-11 I think? And if so how to do it. Or am I fine just using the old GRUB?

i don't see any reason to be worried, i'm at the moment using the same grub v. as you (because i had to reinstall it from the live-cd) and everything works fine;
next time grub is updated, you should see that "corrected"
