Long version: If the printer is up and running (on the wireless network) when I boot up my Mint desktop, I have no problem at all with printing; however, if I forget, and turn the printer on after the computer, the computer doesn't 'catch up' (as it does if I forget to turn on the network ) and I have to restart it in order to print.
First, I assume that's wrong!
Second, how should I attempt to diagnose the error?
Third, how can I manually 'connect' to the printer short of restarting the desktop?
Lastly, if the fault is obvious what can I do about it?
