Man I hope this isn't the future of Linux:

If it becomes just one big phone and tablet OS with little thought to the desktop computer user, I think it fails both the desktop user and the phone/tablet user. I highly doubt that, beyond Android, Linux will make a dent on the phone and tablet market. Here is what I recently posted on another message board: Joli OS has just announced its beta to run on tablets, phones, and computers. Guess what? It's based on Ubuntu. The writing is on the wall. Why make tablet/phone interfaces if you don't plan on entering the tablet and even phone market in the future? Maybe not for iPads or iPhones, but there are other tablets and phones and more to come. Joli OS is just the first to start down the path IMO.
But is it the correct path? And will desktop users follow the new tablet interface Linux makers?
