Request:
If you capable of editing and customizing CSE, so that it can have a better look or can be made more effective, please do let me know and I can share authorship. I do not have a creative eye as far as look-n-feel is concerned and the current layout and effectiveness is the best I can. I cannot go any further than this. I do not know html or API or any kind of coding.

Any help is welcome :)

Here is the same information and resource with a little eye candy to make us noobs feel comfortable using this great Sunewbie iteration:

Great job bro, and lets continue to make it even better! Thanks for sharing!

Hello Friend,

Thanks for taking time to improve look-n-feel.

Nice work :D. Only one constraint. Is it possible to increase the width of search bar. Because after you start to search the result, only half screen is used. Looks better than plain screen.

As I have said before, I do not have a creative eye. Don't know how many people use it. I Just hope that this does not overload your server :)

I will just update the link to search engine. Temporarily, I will keep both of them.

Cheers.

Vincent Vermeulen wrote:Indeed, Arch Linux itself is not for beginners. But I think their Wiki has the best coverage on various topics, for example here is about everything you want to know about GRUB2: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/GRUB2. A great source of learning for people new to Linux, as a lot of information is readily accessible in one place instead of tidbits spread all over various forum posts

Anyway, it depends on how you define beginner. Is that a computer noob? Then don't include the Arch Linux Wiki I think, as they should know which end of the mouse is the business end and be able to install a Windows driver or some such. If you define beginner as somebody who can do those things, just doesn't know anything about Linux, Arch Linux Wiki is a valuable source of learning. I know I would have wanted to have this when I was kicking around with Debian unsuccessfully 12 years ago

But hey, this is your project

My dear Friend Vincent Vermeulin :)

I just had a look at grub2 documentation and other topics wiki.

When I clicked the link, I was excited, curious,

:D As I spend some time, :), then :| , later after 15 mins :( . Then i tried to again read and understand. End result: :x :(

Then something struck, my eyes widened and jaws dropped, and one word just popped up in my mind 'noob' ooooooohh. I Just relaxed. *deep breath* followed by :)

Thats what my name suggests (but sounds better than noob ;) )

This is possible since I have never installed arch or ever worked on it.

Conclusion: Arch not my Cup of Tea. :)

Anyways, I am an optimist. I wish that this CSE should be helpful to as many people as possible. This requires that CSE should cover as many info as possible without losing it's effectiveness.

I am happy that it is of any use to advanced users like you.

So I did not mind adding it.

Update: Added a refinement called "USB Linux" For anyone interested, especially the new users, you can click on a number of refinements, or categories just below the search field to narrow your searches. Just type in what you are looking for and click on the appropriate refinement (or category). It really is a great way to search and is getting much better. I have used it myself for a ton of very successful troubleshooting since I found out about it. I put a tracker on the site to see if it was getting used, but I can see its not getting used very much :( Like Sunewbie said, there aint no money in this at all, but it sure can help the beginners find answers!! (Oldies too!!!) I hope you guys will give it a whirl. Enjoy!

Another place that could have some value is the IBM developerworks. It has a section on linux(link leads to this). You may need to click around a bit, however it does have some good information. I think the area that has the most information is here.

Thank you sir. I see a lot I like on that site. Most of it is like an online "classroom". I think it has some great info too. We will add it to the search critera list. 8)
