LMDE kernel 3.0 sources/headers missing
Since upgrading the kernel to 3.0 I can't find the sources or headers for the kernel. These are needed by VirtualBox to compile its kernel modules. Have the source/header packages been renamed or something?

Re: LMDE kernel 3.0 sources/headers missing
I had a similar problem at one time, and though I don't know the cause, the solution was to boot an older kernel, purge the 3.x kernel and any headers, then re-install them.

But there seems to be no package containing the kernel source OR headers for version 3 at all. That's why I thought maybe the package name has changed for 3.0
Re: LMDE kernel 3.0 sources/headers missing
They are in sid: http://packages.debian.org/sid/linux-he ... 0-2-common
Code: Select all
user@lunch ~ $ apt-cache policy linux-headers-3.0.0-2-all

Re: LMDE kernel 3.0 sources/headers missing
@ctrlesc, but those are the headers for the 3.0.0-2 kernel (the one used in sid atm), testing uses 3.0.0-1;
@rcasha:
- to install the source (which i doubt you need to virtualbox, the headers yes) you need to add the "deb-src" main debian repo;
- the headers should be in synaptic (as long as there's no repo missing in your sources.list)

Yay I found it (the headers). Not sure which repo it were in though. I just enabled every repository in synaptic.
