MIDI files

Post by rcdeacon »

Someone sent me a .mid file music file. I cannot seem to get it to play with anything. Does anyone know what to do to get it to play?

I've not tried it, but "Timidity" should allow playback of midi files.

There is also a midi plug-in for XMMS media player.

RC,

Install Timidity through Synaptic. It is not in the Mint Portal. It may need a reboot to get it working. Just click on the midi file and it should play. There are command line tweaks for it.

Every blessing,
