Morning folks. I tried to install Daryna on my sons Compaq F500. The CD boots an goes though configuration but the the screens goes black and nothing else. There is no sound from the CD drive or any responce from teh machine. Kubuntu 7.10 rus fine but he wanted to try Mint. I run it well on a HP A6009N and it works great. Any ideas? Or is there an alternate install CD available?

Can you tell us what hardware is in that laptop - nu use searching the net for that....
Also try to add noapi and perhaps more at boot time as described here
